The Culturist
Read the history before you land. The trip gets twice as good when you know what you’re looking at.
The Culturist travels to understand a place. You read up before you land, you’d trade a spa day for a great guide, and the best meal of the trip is usually the one a local told you about. Markets, architecture, neighbourhoods, the way people actually live. I plan these trips around the right guides, the right hours at the big sights, and stays in the parts of town where the city still feels like itself.
You know you’re a Culturist when
- Culture, all the way in. Museums, old streets, local traditions. You don’t visit, you steep.
- Wants the real story. A guide who knows the gossip beats a headset every time.
- Buys from the maker. Local crafts and real artisans over airport souvenirs.
- Travels lightly. You want to leave a place as good as you found it.
Things to consider
