The Leisurist
The best thing I can plan for you is nothing. A slow morning, a long lunch, absolutely nowhere to be.
The Leisurist travels to stop, not to go. You’re not chasing an itinerary packed with activities. You’re chasing the version of yourself that wakes up without an alarm, orders the same drink by the pool three days in a row, and doesn’t apologize for it. That doesn’t mean boring. It means intentional. A quiet resort with an exceptional spa. A private pool that’s actually private. A property where the staff remembers your name by day two and leaves you alone unless you ask for something. This is where I spend the most time vetting, because “relaxing” and “restorative” get thrown around by every hotel marketing team on earth, and most of them are lying.
You know you’re a Leisurist when
- Rest is the plan. A trip without a nap isn’t a trip. Lounging isn’t a hobby, it’s the point.
- Quietly particular. The sheets, the pour, the pillow menu. You notice, and you’d rather not have to.
- Poolside by nature. A cabana, a private plunge pool, a lounger with a sea breeze. That’s your habitat.
- A proper drink. You appreciate a well-made cocktail. If it comes in a can, keep it.
